Writtle Lightwell
Created at the end of a sci-art residency, funded by Leverhulme Trust. The piece is inspired by an aerial view of the college.
A series of objects were created during the residency and this final piece represents a journey, that of the collaboration between the artist and landscape lecturer.
Darling Daisy
Made for the Gardens of Easton Lodge, Great Dunmow. Sculpture of the Garden's former owner, the Countess of Warwick.
The surface decoration was created using various artefacts unearthed in the garden during restoration.
Balkerne Star
3m handmade ceramic tile flooring based on a roman mosaic in the town's castle.
Commissioned by Barratt Homes, and shortlisted for Hort Week Award.
Copper Panels, Mosaic Floor
Complimentary wall and floor pieces for the main entrance of Holly Trees School, Brentwood.
Pupils helped design and create a series of ten integrated artworks within the new building.
Crittall Tools
Bursary for Crittall Windows. Tools used in the shaping of the frames were collected from the factory. Punched out metal fragments were sorted and coloured and used to adorn the tools.
The idea was to celebrate the handcrafted manufacturing aspect of what was a small family company and 150 years later of international standing. The works are now held in the Crittall Collection at Braintree Museum.
